A blink becomes a voice.

Structure

Three printed layers, one job each.

The case is a stack. Compute at the bottom, sensing and sound in the middle, a lid on top. Every lead stays inside until it has to leave.

03Input
One gesture

One blink. One sentence.

A camera behind the front aperture counts deliberate blinks. Each count is a phrase — the toilet, hungry, thirsty, an emergency call, thank you, I love you. Nothing is held, worn or touched.

04Output
Two channels

It speaks out loud. It texts at the same time.

The phrase plays through the speaker behind the perforated wall for whoever is in the room. The same moment, the carer's phone gets a text — so a request still lands when they have stepped out.

No computer needed

No computer. Just the box.

THAW never has to be connected to a computer, and it does not ask the user or the carer to know how to use one. A Raspberry Pi 5 inside does the counting, the matching and the speaking — plug it in and it works. The carer's phone only receives the text.

Look through it.

Switch the header to X-RAY: the shells go translucent and the build is annotated — where the camera aims, where the speaker sits, where the leads leave, which port they land in.
